Itinerary
Your adventure begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a brief city tour, experiencing the vibrant streets and local culture. Dinner and overnight stay at:
After breakfast, depart early to avoid city traffic and journey to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park. Stop at the Equator line in Masaka for photos and souvenirs. Arrive in time for lunch, check in, and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on the lake. Spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, African fish eagles, herons, and other aquatic wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy a morning game drive across open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills. Look out for zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, and a variety of birds. After lunch and a short rest, embark on a guided nature walk, exploring the park’s flora and fauna, visiting the salt lick area where animals congregate.
After breakfast, drive approximately 4 hours to Lake Bunyonyi, a stunning freshwater lake with over 20 islands and terraced hills. Enjoy a canoe ride on the calm waters, spotting birds and scenic landscapes. Dinner and overnight at:
Start your day with a sunrise boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and birdwatching along the shores. After lunch, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Choose between:
- Golden Monkey Trek: Trek into the bamboo forests with an armed ranger to see these playful primates. Trekking can last 1–6 hours depending on monkey movements.
- Batwa Cultural Walk: Explore ancient forest trails, learn about Batwa heritage, and enjoy traditional dances.
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening.
Experience the highlight of the safari: trekking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Spend up to one hour observing and photographing these gentle giants, learning about their behavior, grooming, and social dynamics. Trekking requires good physical fitness, gumboots, walking sticks, gloves, and water. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Drive through scenic hills to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the Ishasha sector, spot the tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes. Continue to the northern sector, check in, and relax.
Enjoy a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains for lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, and buffaloes. After lunch, embark on a 2-hour Kazinga Channel boat cruise connecting Lakes George and Edward, observing hippos, crocodiles, and over 200 bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Trek in Kibale Forest National Park to see chimpanzees and other primates. Afternoon transfer to Kasese, gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains, for dinner and overnight.
Hike the lower slopes of Mount Rwenzori, encountering endemic birds, ferns, and diverse flora. Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Morning chimpanzee tracking for 1–6 hours. Afternoon nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, spotting duikers, shoebills, and a variety of birds. Return to lodge for overnight.
Drive through Fort Portal and scenic rolling hills to Hoima. Visit Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, including the Royal Tombs and historical insights into King Kabalega’s resistance against colonial forces. Overnight in Hoima.
Drive through the Albertine Rift, passing Lake Albert, Virunga Mountains, and Kibiro Salt Gardens. Check in at your lodge and relax.
Morning game drive to spot the Big Five, Uganda kobs, zebras, waterbucks, and over 400 bird species. Afternoon boat cruise on the Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls, observing hippos, crocodiles, and rare shoebills. Return to lodge for overnight.
Drive through northern Uganda’s savannah plains, hills, and cattle farms to reach Kidepo Valley. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Morning game drive in Narus Valley to spot lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, ostriches, and more. Afternoon cultural visit to Karamajong communities, observing traditional life, cattle milking, and village activities.
Hike scenic trails in the Morungole Mountains, witnessing stunning views of South Sudan and the Karamajong plains. Return to lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Drive to Sipi Falls, passing Pian Upe Game Reserve and spotting wildlife including hyenas, topis, giraffes, and zebras. Check in at lodge, dinner, and overnight.
Morning visit to Sipi Falls for scenic hikes and birdwatching. Drive to Jinja through plantations and cultivated plains. Check in at lodge for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy rafting, bungee jumping, swimming, or sunbathing at the Source of the Nile. Later, return to Kampala (3–4 hours) for your flight arrangements.
