7-Day Fort Portal Study Tour Itinerary
Depart from Kampala or Entebbe and enjoy a scenic drive through tea plantations and rolling hills to Fort Portal. Arrival, check-in, and orientation.
Visit the Karuzika Palace, the seat of the Tooro Kingdom. Students learn about Batooro history, leadership systems, and cultural traditions, followed by discussions on heritage preservation.
Morning chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, focusing on primate behaviour, forest layers, and conservation practices. Afternoon reflection session.
Guided swamp walk in Bigodi Wetland, studying bird species, medicinal plants, wetland ecosystems, and engaging with the local community involved in conservation.
Excursion to Semuliki National Park to visit the male and female Sempaya Hot Springs, where students observe geothermal activity, forest biodiversity, and rift valley geology.
Tour the Fort Portal Crater Lakes region, learning about volcanic activity, crater formation, and landscape evolution, combined with guided nature walks.
Depart Fort Portal for Kampala with a stopover in Mityana for lunch or souvenir shopping.
