Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL), you will be welcomed by your guide and begin a short Kigali city tour, highlighting key landmarks and a meaningful visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. After the tour, you will drive north to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. The scenic journey takes approximately 2–3 hours, passing through Rwanda’s rolling hills before checking in at your lodge near the park.
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kinigi Park Headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. You will then begin the gorilla trekking experience, which can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. This once-in-a-lifetime encounter allows you to spend time observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll enjoy traditional dances, music, and learn about Rwanda’s local customs and heritage.
On your final day, you may choose an optional golden monkey tracking experience or a guided nature walk around the park. Later, you will transfer back to Kigali in time for your departure flight, marking the end of a memorable Rwanda safari experience.
