Itinerary
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Meet your professional safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Depending on arrival time, you may explore Nairobi’s highlights, including the Karen Blixen Museum or local markets.
Drive through the breath taking Great Rift Valley, enjoying panoramic views of crater lakes and rolling hills. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its pink flamingo colonies and endangered black and white rhinos. Afternoon game drive includes sightings of giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and a variety of antelopes. Sunset photography is spectacular here. Overnight at lodge.
Morning game drive in Nakuru for early wildlife activity before transferring to the Masai Mara. Stop for scenic views of the Mara plains. Check in at your lodge or tented camp. Evening is free to enjoy sundowners while listening to the distant roars of lions.
Spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives, spotting lions hunting, cheetahs sprinting across open fields, and elephants wandering majestically. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, or a visit to a Maasai village to learn about local traditions, jewellery, and dances.
Cross the Kenya-Tanzania border at Isebania. Drive into the vast Serengeti National Park, stopping for game viewing along the way. Afternoon game drive to spot lions, leopards, and herds of wildebeest grazing the plains. Sunset over the endless savannah offers stunning photo opportunities. Overnight in Serengeti.
Early morning and afternoon game drives to explore the Serengeti’s central and northern sectors. Depending on the season, witness Great Migration crossings, cheetahs chasing gazelles, and predators resting under acacia trees. Capture photographs of elephants, giraffes, and birdlife in their natural habitat. Evening storytelling around a campfire under a star-studded sky.
Drive to Ngorongoro, passing Maasai villages and scenic acacia-dotted landscapes. Afternoon drive along the crater rim for panoramic views. Watch for wildlife grazing below, and enjoy a sundowner with a view of Africa’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Overnight at lodge near the crater rim.
Descend into the crater floor for a morning game drive. Spot rhinos, elephants, buffalo, lions, zebras, and flamingos on the lake’s edge. Lunch at a scenic picnic site within the crater. Drive to Arusha for overnight, stopping at cultural sites or local markets if time permits.
Morning flight to Entebbe/Kampala. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon is free for relaxation or a short city tour of Kampala, including craft markets and local attractions. Overnight in Entebbe.
Drive southwest, stopping at the Equator line for photographs and the classic equator experiment. Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s only savannah park, known for its zebras, impalas, and giraffes. Afternoon boat cruise on the lake to spot hippos, crocodiles, and diverse water birds. Overnight at lodge.
Morning game drive or horseback safari to see zebras, impalas, elands, and topis. Then drive through the scenic Kigezi highlands, passing terraced hills, banana plantations, and small villages, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Arrive for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing. Trek through dense forest with an armed ranger in search of mountain gorillas. Trekking may take 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movement. Spend one hour observing and photographing these gentle giants. Afternoon relaxation at the lodge. Optional evening visit to a local Batwa community for cultural performances.
Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP, entering the Ishasha sector, known for tree-climbing lions. Afternoon game drive with sightings of elephants, topis, buffaloes, antelopes, and birdlife. Evening sunset over the savannah before overnight at lodge.
Morning game drive or boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, observing hippos, crocodiles, and waterbeds. After lunch, drive back to Entebbe for your evening departure flight.
